GPS Provides Safe, Effective Air Purification Solutions in Health Care Facilities
Infection control is critical for health care facilities, and it takes a multifaceted approach. From waiting rooms to operating rooms, indoor air quality measures complement advanced cleaning and sterilization techniques.
Boston Children’s Hospital installed the GPS-iMOD® needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI®) air purification system to reduce airborne particulates, odors and pathogens while lowering energy consumption and the facility’s carbon footprint.
Needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI®) technology, provided by Global Plasma Solutions safely cleans the air by introducing ions into the room via the medical building’s ventilation system. When ions come into contact with airborne viruses and other pathogens, they disrupt the pathogens’ surface proteins, rendering them inactive. Ions also combine with dust and other particles in the air, making them larger and more easily captured by filtration systems.
